International Haskell Family Society
Library
Welcome!
Below is a description of the operating rules of the IHFS Library.
1 To become a Subscriber to the Library please send your name, postal address and email address (if appropriate) to the Librarian, Christine Haskell, at the address given at the foot of this page. Email is the preferred means of communication. The books are listed on the IHFS website and can be viewed by selecting the 'book list' button at the foot of this page. If a printed list is required, please send a cheque for £3.00, made payable to the International Haskell Family Society, to cover costs. Alternatively a donation could be made by Paypal – just hit the icon on the IHFS website and pay in a few clicks with your credit or debit card. (If required, currency conversion is made automatically)
2 Up to three books may be requested at one time. If a book is already on loan, it may be reserved for the future. The loan period is one calendar month from the date of posting. Some material may be scanned and sent electronically, on request.
3 Requests may be made by email or by post. Please obtain a (free) Certificate of Posting from the Post Office when returning the book. This will ‘cover’ the Subscriber in the event of loss in the post. International Subscribers should make similar arrangements. If a Certificate is not obtained and the book is lost, the Subscriber will be requested to reimburse the Society with the current value of the lost book
4 The book should be returned to the address above. If feasible, please re-use the packaging.
5 To avoid imposing a financial burden on the Society, when returning a book please include payment to cover the cost of outward postage. Paypal is the easiest method of payment, but a sterling cheque, postage stamps or International Reply Coupons would be an alternative.
Donations in excess of the actual cost would be gratefully received, and will go into a Library Fund for the purchase of additional stock.
6 In the event of accidental damage to a book, simply return it with a note indicating the extent of the damage.
7 A Subscription shall be deemed to terminate should a Subscriber cease for any reason to be a member of the IHFS.
8 Suggestions for additions to the Library would be welcomed. Donations of books would also be gratefully received. The Librarian reserves the right to decide which books shall be added to the Library.
9 Finally, a request to return borrowed books promptly! This makes them more readily available to other Subscribers, and saves the Librarian much time and trouble in ‘chasing up’ forgotten loans.
10 Last of all, Good Luck with your research. Enjoy!
